B2SB success

More than 200 friends and supporters came together on October 18 to celebrate the work of the Center for College & Careers (CCC) and our fantastic honorees! The Bash raised more than $34,000 which will be used to help fund initiatives such as preparation courses, college tours, and job readiness training.

Honorees for the event included Heriberto Contreras, of MVP Health Care, Hon. Catherine Parker, Westchester County Legislature, and Mount Vernon’s Kenneth Plummer, of Kensworth Consulting. William Phillips, a Mount Vernon High School graduate who is currently a sophomore at SUNY Buffalo, received the distinguished alumi award. NBC 4 New York Anchor Stefan Holt emceed the charity event.

“Seeing so many people come together to support the youth and young adults involved with our program speaks volumes about the strength and passion of our community,” says Deputy Director for the Center for College & Careers Daniel Bonnet. “All of our honorees have shown a commitment to helping young people, regardless of their circumstances, to reach their full potential and strive toward reaching their educational or vocational dreams. The funds raised at the Bash will help ensure that the CCC is here to help our young people continue to learn, work, and thrive.”
