Homelessness & Housing Services

My children and I now have a two-bedroom apartment. I never believed that dreams come true, but I learned they really can with good people in your life and hard work.

Our Supported Housing and Homeless Outreach services help support people who have a history of homelessness, mental illness, and substance abuse.

Supported Housing

Supported housing offers case management, housing retention, and other support services to qualifying adults and families with histories of homelessness and mental illness or substance use disorders, or who are transitioning from long-term psychiatric inpatient stays.

We locate permanent housing for participants throughout Westchester County and make rent subsidies available through various government funded programs administered by: Westchester County Department of Community Mental Health (DCMH); New York State Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS); Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA), New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH), Westchester County Department of Social Services (DSS), City of Mount Vernon, US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Homeless Outreach

Our homeless outreach workers help ensure that chronically homeless people in Westchester are aware of the programs, services, and resources which are available to them. Outreach works build trust through frequent visits and help over come the obstacles which may prevent someone from seeking a stable living situation and social and health resources.
