Virtual? Hybrid? TGCW can help!

Virtual. In-person. Hybrid. As families start the school year with more questions than answers, The Guidance Center of Westchester is ready to help.

Child care and preschool: With new safety protocols in place, our Creative Learning Center (CLC) in New Rochelle is open and welcoming children (18 months – 5 years) in person. Whether families need to enroll a child full time or are looking for an option to care for little ones while older children are learning from home, our CLC is ready. We have availabilities to meet a variety of needs, including those who qualify for Head Start.

Interested families can call or email to discuss: 914-613-0700 x7301 • EarlyChildhood@TheGuidanceCenter.org

Center for College & Careers (CCC): It’s easy to get distracted in these times, but 9th – 12th graders at Mount Vernon High School and New Rochelle High School need to keep focused on the future. Our CCC is geared up and ready: assistance in the college process (applications, scholarships, Common Application, FAFSA, etc.); career assessments (explore potential pathways based on skills and interests); tutoring services (for all academic subject areas); exposure to the workforce (through internships and experiences); and so much more.

New Rochelle High School: Ms. Ortiz • 914-319-9704 (call or text).

Mount Vernon High School: Ms. Barrett • 914-413-9310 (call or text).

FutureWorks: We are currently enrolling for our Urban Handyperson trainings and certifications. Participants gain a basic understanding of work site safety, hand tools, power tools, material handling principles and equipment use, basic blueprint reading, and workplace etiquette, while earning related certifications, including OSHA 30. For youth ages 16-24 from New Rochelle and Mount Vernon. See details here.

Families and individuals: The uncertainty of the school year and the added pressures of remote learning are impacting us all. Stress is high. If you, your child, or loved one are experiencing anxiety or other emotional issues, please give us a call. We are providing counseling sessions in person and via telehealth. 914-613-0700 x7104.
