Supported Education

With support, I was able to stay in school and better manage my time and my schedule. I know I’m not alone in this.

 

Supported Education is specifically for college students diagnosed with mental illness. It offers essential support to help navigate the challenges of academic life. Balancing school demands, personal well-being, and mental health can be overwhelming, but Supported Education provides a personalized approach to ensure participants have the tools, resources, and encouragement to succeed.

Through a range of tailored services, we can help manage stress, stay organized, and foster growth, all while promoting well-being and resilience with the goals of improving academic performance, maintaining progress, and achieving graduation goals.

Qualifications & Cost

Supported Education is free for any student who has a diagnosed mental health condition and is enrolled at a college or university in Westchester County.

Advocacy & Support

We’re here to reduce stigma and empower people to advocate for their needs. We assist with navigating sensitive topics like disclosing mental health concerns, handling unexpected hospitalizations, and returning from medical leaves. We have relationships with many Westchester County colleges and universities and can also coordinate with the college's Office of Disability Services and/or Counseling & Wellness Office to ensure appropriate accommodations.

Skills Training

College life demands a variety of skills, and we’re here to help sharpen them. From time management and study techniques to organizing, scheduling, and planning the semester, our practical coaching will help participants stay on top of academic responsibilities. Additionally, we focus on stress management, coping strategies, and social skills, while helping participants understand their unique learning style.

Accessing College Resources

Navigating the educational system can be tricky. We guide participants through college policies, connect with resources ,like tutoring and financial aid, and help ensure that important deadlines are met. All of this is coordinated with the college's Office of Disability Services and/or Counseling & Wellness Center.

Stress Management & Support

Through peer support groups, collaboration with your treatment providers, and connections to community resources, participants receive both emotional and practical assistance to reduce stress and stay focused.

Family Engagement & Goal Setting

We believe in the power of family support and engagement in the college journey. Supported Education offers educational resources for family members.
