Our clients find hope and empowerment to regain control of their emotional, social and psychological well-being through The Guidance Center's mental health support programs.
Our talented professional team help more than 1,400 people each year.
PROS
The Guidance Center is proud to offer the first Personalized Recovery Oriented Service (PROS) program in Westchester County. Developed by the New York State Office of Mental Health, PROS integrates multiple programs into a single, comprehensive rehabilitation service for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness. The Guidance Center offers a rich and varied set of services in a dynamic, engaging and newly designed environment. Each participant’s personal goals and aspirations act as the foundation for all of the PROS offerings. Participants work with our professional staff to: establish goals and develop a realistic plan to meet them; build skills for independent living; create personal resources to support recovery efforts; enroll in vocational or educational programs; and find a preferred living situation.
If you or someone you love would benefit from the extensive care of PROS, contact our admission & referral specialist at 914-613-0705. For a more detailed explanation of PROS, please visit the New York State Office of Mental Health website.

Phone Buddies
Participants in our New Beginning Club often take part in Phone Buddies, calling other mental health clients who need support during the evenings and weekends. The friendly and supportive telephone calls help alleviate loneliness and encourage communication and a connection to others.
Surprise Lake Camp
For seven days, just after Labor Day, mental health clients can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings at Surprise Lake Camp. Led by peer mentors, the week is a break from the daily rigor of treatment and allows individuals to flourish as they experience new activities in a soothing natural setting.
