Services for Latino Children & Families
The Guidance Center is fully committed to providing bilingual/bicultural services for the Latino community in southern Westchester. Over 40% of the 4,500 clients we served in 2008 identified as Latino/Hispanic and we continue to attract highly-qualified, bilingual staff members. Our Mamaroneck mental health clinic and our Universal Pre-Kindergarten are both completely bilingual programs. And we collaborate with Port Chester and Mamaroneck school districts to identify the best ways to meet the needs of Latino students.
Latina Drop-In Centers
The Latina Drop-In Centers provide support and guidance for women coping with a new culture, depression, substance or physical abuse, financial burdens, and other issues. A primary goal is helping parents learn to advocate for their children and participate in the educational system.
